If you are incapacitated (or in an accident, in a hospital, have a stroke, outside of the country and your documents and wallets are stolen, etc), and you require someone else to act on your behalf, having a POA would save you time, money, and lots of grief. A Power of Attorney that continues despite any subsequent incapacity on your part is called an Enduring Power of Attorney, which can only be terminated when you decide to revoked it while capable or upon your death,
